Reviews for Savoureux Cafe

The big breakfast is massive! The service size is very generous, its actually enough for two people, although I did not share my mine
The food was really yummy, especially the Toulouse sausage and portobello. Good for anyone who is looking for a very hearty and filling brekkie as it kept me full for the whole day
Would definitely go back.

I must agree with the other comments re pecan pie. It’s delicious!! (wish I could say the same for the banana cake – was dry, like it was from previous day’s yet)
Hubby and I ordered flounder each as it was on the ‘Today’s Special’ board that day. We loved it! fish was moist, and the mesclun salad that went with it had a fresh sweet-sour dressing.
My father had ham omelette, which was the size of the plate it came in. it was lovely. we all got to taste it, and my son who has eggs benedicts every time we eat out for brunch, wished he ordered the omelette instead. it was that good, not that the eggs benedict wasn’t good, ’cause it was, according to him.
The 2 ladies attending to us were absolutely lovely — very polite and always smiling
Keep it up Savoureaux!

Savourex really impressed me!
I went in last Sunday and had a deliciously creamy Flat White (one of the best I have ever had) and a scrummy Vegetarian Big Breakfast – potato Rosti’s are too die for! The young waitress working there is absolutely lovely and very attentive. Its surprisingly a pretty quiet cafe so service is pretty fast on the whole a great experience.

I was hoping Savoureux would force other Mt Eden cafés to up their game, but it’s not there yet. Two of us ordered “roasted” beetroot and feta salad, which was very tasty with lots of walnuts, but the beetroot was far from having a roasted texture and flavour. My friend had no complaints about her grilled tarakihi, however we all found the wait was a bit long considering the café was very quiet. The staff are very friendly, but need more training; the ordered latté was completely forgotten about (not really acceptable when the server has a writing pad.) Will be back when in the Village, but I don’t think Savoureux is quite up to the standard you can find in cafés either side of the Village on Mt Eden Rd.

I had a look at the hygiene grade but it didn’t show because it was “still pending” so I would presume that the building is either new or under new ownership?
Nevertheless I have came here a year ago and I didn’t really like the egg benedict. Well…I never liked eggs benedict anyways so….
This time the experience was better because I ordered something else. I came last week and the staff was very friendly. The woman who was working there knew how to give good hospitality service. Thumbs up to hospitality.
The chef seemed a bit new in terms of dealing with customers but he was quite a good cook. I ordered the vegetarian mushroom and bread and it tasted fresh and well balanced in terms of flavor so I can’t really complain about it. The fettuccine was also made vegetarian mushroom which was quite good as well though both dishes were a bit creamy for my liking.
In terms of pricing it was very decent. The lunch special fetuccini was $11 or $13? and the mushroom I can’t quite remember maybe $18? So I would recommend getting the lunch specials because they were worth the price.
The ambiance was very clean white and they have a courtyard which seemed a bit dark at the time so I didn’t want to sit there, nevertheless the courtyard provides a great area for people to read books

Savoureux Cafe is a fantastic venue where you can just sit with your family and soak up the atmosphere.
I brought my partner and my two young children for the 11 am lunch meal – (pay 15 and one child dines free) – and found out the back in the courtyard, a little play pen! Ha ha ha
Very Nice family touch guys!!
Do you have a day care service? =]
Good coffee, good food, good time for anyone and there family. – Will definitely be back!

Located in the busy Mt. Eden marketplace area, Savoureux Cafe offers the combination of good food and ambience. I personally like cafes to be simple, bright, and not cluttered and overly decorated– and it’s Savoureux Cafe. The elegant white dominates the interior of the new cafe, which also has a courtyard in the back and a meeting room on the second floor.
I enjoyed my brunch, which was pancake with berry compote and mascarpone cheese ($12.50) which was a value for money. Stacks of pancakes with rich berry compote, and the extra kick from the mascarpone cheese. MMM YUM!
Definitely will go back for to taste their cabinet food (I heard that their pecan pie is the best!) and the new takeaway box dinner.

They had absolutely beautiful pecan pie. I enjoyed relaxing with the NZ Herald in the light-filled seating area in the front of the cafe. The brand new chairs were comfy and stylish.
There was a nice range of cabinet food, and I enjoyed a salmon/rocket croissant, which I thought was good value.
Service was friendly & efficient, and and I found it easy to find a street park out-front on Mt Eden Road.
There are a couple of tables out the front on the footpath too, that were catching the morning sun . I took a peek at the Courtyard out back of Savoureux, which I think would be good on hot afternoons, plus there’s a play area there for kids.
It’s a great wee cafe. I’m glad it’s arrived in Mt Eden.
