I dined here with friends not long after they opened. The service was professionally attentive yet friendly and informal, making us all feel at home.
The menu here is sumptuous; great local produce prepared in house and presented skilfully. Even the vegetarian at our table found plenty to tempt her. All complimented by a succinct wine list offering local and national wines as well as Wanaka made beers.
The stunning vistas and cosy interior make it a pleasure to dine here, I will continue to recommend this wonderful restaurant.

While in wanaka recently my partner and I where recommended a new restaurant that had opened,it is off the beaten track but well worth the visit the views are amazing and with the fire roaring very romantic. I had the soup as starters which was wild mushroom that night and my wife the duck I am not a foody but it was divine for seconds I had the pork which I must add was organic and so moist. pork I find is hard to cook and it melted in my mouth. my wife ordered the Angus beef and it was presented so lovely. It was nice to find a private place away from the hustle and bustle of town and also where you can dress up in your Sunday best I will be back again and be recommending to all I know that are coming your way well done the team at sapphire

We arrived at this tiny restaurant (formerly home to the excellent Ambrosia), having booked, to find our water glasses already filled…. and the dust already settling. The menus, both wine and food, were refreshingly short with interesting looking dishes.
Sadly though, the food fell short on what was promised, bland and overambitious with too many flavours. Portions too were very small which, at the price at which they were offered, was unreasonable.
Good wine list with local offerings but VERY indifferent service from the lady who waited upon us.
A shame as there is a gap in the Wanaka market for another top end restaurant. Sadly, despite its ambitions to fill this position, Sapphire has not done so.
