We went last night; it was my third visit. The first two had been exceptional but this visit was sublime. The food is extraordinary, the service warm and professional. After the entree (duck) I was sure it would be one of those all too common meals where nothing matched the starter. But the roasted king fish with parsnip & saffron puree and chorizo was a show stopper, as was the lime creme brulee with coconut ice cream. A class act – one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time.

We headed to Pure as it was recommended to us.
The restaurant is small with a welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. As a starter was shared the Seared scallops and black pudding with apple puree. The scallops where perfect and black pudding a great match.
For main the I had the special of the day, Gnocchi and Wallaby to get me in the RWC mood. Again another fantastic dish.
Well worth a visit in a area with some good local competition.
They have a large selection of Tea.

I’ve dined there 2-3 times before. Food has always been exceptional so as service. That’s why I decided to celebrate my birthday there last year. Our small group of 10 got the upstairs dining room and yet again it was AMAZING!

Pure Restaurant has a warm atmosphere with a cheerful and very competent team. The food was so delicious and differently to everything we have eaten in several other places. Really: amazing. Pure Restaurant would have given us a reason to even stay an other week or more in New Zealand… Only for coming back and having an other, wonderful evening out at Pure.

I went once and couldn’t wait to return. It’s a pricey joint but I felt that everything on the table was worth paying that little bit extra for. Apart from the very very tasty king fish steak, I think they make the best fejoa desert in the world. Lovely service too.

Dined at recommendation and not disappointed. Delicate tastes and textures combined with grace most effectively. The wasabi pannacotta a treat.
Outstanding, food and service great ambience, well worth a visit.

We went to Pure a few days ago when they had their Swiss week. I had fondue which was exceptional, better than most other fondues that I have had, and I have had a few (especially while I was living in Switzerland). All the other items on the menu looked divine! Would come back without hesitation and am interested to see what they normally have on the menu!

Have been to this excellent restaurant twice now, both times i have found myself stopping half way through my meal and declaring just how good the food is. This is a well rounded dining experience with excellent wait staff and fantastic food. A small menu can make deciding difficult if you have a preference for a meat before you go, but be open to suggestion. This chef is very very good!
