I stop off for lunch about once a fortnight at Marty’s.

They always deliver good food, well presented, promptly served and in such great surroundings.

I work in the food industry (don’t ask) and I visit a lot of restaurants, Martys is one of a handful that I would recommend, there’s plenty I would never eat at!

I had the Aloha Burger last week, it was a superb combination of flavours….. subtle yet lingering, delicate and memorable…..5 stars guys.

What a lovely find. We first enjoyed scrubbing the Kunekune pig’s ears, then wandered into the cafe to see what was on offer – not being overly hopeful! But what a delicious selection of cabinet goodies, including syrupy lemon and hummingbird cakes macadamia and caramel squares and fig something-or-others. Perfect. Had to have the fig thingie. First tho, his ‘big Bertha’ burger was certainly something to write home about – fantastic home-made patty and selected delectable sauces. My ham and Gruyere melt was definitely worth a return visit – the mustard made the difference I think – or was it the crusty bread maybe. Or the thick layers of ham. The fig thingie was just perfect with a unique nutty flavour and perhaps a cinnamon short pastry. Coffee was good, mine host was attentive and friendly, ambience great and we’ll be back!
