One of the best Indian Restaurant in New Zealand. Have been at Mantra few times. Shammi is a amazing host. Food is to die for.

5 stars for the food, 1 star for the service and welcoming. Without a doubt the strangest restaurant experience I’ve ever had. Having spent a LOT of time eating Indian food in India and many other places in the world, I have to say the food was brilliant.
Sadly, the staff and service were abysmal and there was a general disinterest in serving us. We had to wait over 45mins for our main courses whilst other tables (friends or locals it seemed) were served first, despite arriving well after ourselves.
It was a real shame. Arrowtown is a beautiful little place with brilliant restaurants way beyond it’s size. Unfortunately Mantra isn’t one of them. Safe your money and opt for their delivery or take away options.
