Little b espresso is the sister site to “Ben Cafe” on Fort St… also renowned for their amazing coffee. Little b, opened its doors on the 26th of February 2010. Little b has its own little identity, fitting in with its unique surroundings on cross street in Auckland City. Little b is home to a small kitchen where we make the food items found at Ben espresso on fort street but is still an espresso bar. The focus is first and foremost the coffee. We are very proud of Little b and couldn’t have made it possible without the great support from all the Barista Empire staff (you all know who you are). Little b is running a la Marzocco mechanical paddle machine, with a couple of Roburs. The mechanical paddles are great fun to use and really involve the barista in the extraction process. We found it hard to find a good espresso bar open on Saturday in Auckland city, there are a lot of cafes to be found in our great city, but very few focussed on the coffee that are open over the weekend, this lead us to open Little b. All brewing methods are available from Monday to Saturday, as are an ever changing selection of single origin coffees. Little b is the sort of place we would go for coffee. Little b also carries the complete range of retail coffees from Barista Empire, stop by on a Saturday for a chat about coffee, there is nothing like starting a slow Saturday morning with a lively Ethiopian syphon before exploring the diversity that is k rd.
