Such a lovely restaurant! First we’ve been very impressed by the decor, the attention to detail. SO french! I tried my first almond croissant and had one every morning for the rest of our trip after that. The country omelette my husband ordered was just amazing and the “cafe au lait” was probably the best we had in Queenstown. We had dinner for our last night and it has been the highlight of our holidays. The Artichokes and ricotta raviolis were divine and the beef fillet cooked perfectly. The atmosphere is all romantic and cosy and the service very friendly. Highly recommended!

After 20 years of living in Queenstown if I had been told 2 years ago that we would be getting a genuine patisserie, equal to the very best in France, I would have said…yeah right! But I have to say I has been done, and very well at that. When you know that even in France it is not always easy to find REAL Croissants made from the day, you appreciate how big an achievement it is here, 12,000km away!
But the patisserie is not the only feature worth checking out: The New Zealand lamb cooked the French way is a must! and some of the classic french meals are simply genuine, made even more so by the decor.

We visited Les Alps over the Christmas and New Year period 2010/11 and had several brunch/lunch meals there- we found the service was pretty good – it is usually a bit quieter there than at the other very busy Queenstown cafes. Les Alps serve good coffee and pretty pastries. The apple tarte tartin was divine!
We also enjoyed the Les Alps omelet and simple soft boiled eggs and toast soldiers!

We were very disappointed in nearly every aspect of our dining experience. From the dish on the menu not the meal that arrived at the table, vegetables arrived when main course was finished, vegetables mushy and overcooked, and portion sizes tiny. Just to make us feel better a diner at the next table sent a meal back.

What a fantastic dining experience. From the ambiance, to the service(including the hosts coming around to talk to every table) to the food – everything was perfect.I wanted to lick the plate clean. The flavours were fantastic, the duck melt in your mouth delicious. It reminded me of a fabulous restaurant we went to in Moulin in France. I would highly recommend this restaurant and cannot wait to go back to Queenstown to return to Les Alpes
