Amazing cafe, staff are always friendly and the food is beautiful. I am in love with their fantastic range of cabinet salads that are always packed full of flavor and very innovative. I cannot fault this cafe and always look forward to sharing brekie/lunch with friends there. Mmmm must go for lunch today!

I have just been in Hamilton for the Rugby World Cup. It was so crowded that we wandered down Vic St to Hazel Hayes for Breakfast, WOW what a magnificant brekkie. My friend and I have raved about it since returning to Christchurch. If we had a Cafe like this in Christchurch I would be a regular. Lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff and awesome food, outstanding. “LUCKY HAMILTON”

I went for breakfast for the first time and was instantly impressed. The setting is crisp and clean but homely and comfy. They have done a really thoughtful job on the decor. I love the style. I’m not sure why one person has commented negatively about the coffee and the food as it was flawless and SO tasty and full of ‘love’ we could not stop talking about it ALL DAY! The meals were not only delicious but they were substantial – and I have a big appetite. Great value for money. The coffee was so good I could have easily had another – if I wasn’t so full!! Will definitely be going back – LOVED IT!!

The scones are to die for! My fave is the black bean version. Sampled the tomato chili jam with cumin seed gouda the other day and it was also delicious. Love the mini iced lemon loaves. Miss the Cinnamon Oysters, but understand they weren’t a top seller. Also love the Coffee Fudge slice.

I went there yesterday and was sadly disappointed with the food and the coffee. My half strength mocha was so strong i couldnt drink it. The food was tasteless and the people i brought with me left their meals without eating them. It was a complete waste of money.

Hazel Hayes is amazing! Every thing i have ever tried on the menu has been delicious. All the little touches make it not just nice but WOW! A little twist on all your favourites – caramel slice with cashews! Shut up! Amazing! The muesli with honeycomb – and were those pomegranate seeds? (bursts of delight in my mouth) is highly recommended. The coffee rocks my socks off. And the awesome setting with cool tables and chairs, plus the quaint teaspoons and sugar cubes. Great for kids too – with chalk boards to draw on and toy cars for table numbers! Everything they make is so fresh and full of flavour. You can tell someone is putting their heart and soul into their family owned cafe and it is really paying off. A very talented chef. Plus their catering looks amazing – def will get them to cater my next event! Get in there now!!
