We’ve been Grace customers for over a year now, I guess, and never have I been disappointed.

I have food allergies, and they all know exactly what goes into their food – none of those “we don’t make it here” excuses.

They make an exceptional egg-free moosewood chocolate cake, and for my birthday were happy to go out of their way to make a complete cake for me.

I routinely order the cake, iced chocolate, hot chocolate, garlic breads, and have always enjoyed it. Service is always really friendly and very fast! They do so well with such a small kitchen.

My boyfriend regularly gets the eggs benedict with bacon and now he refuses to order it elsewhere because he knows it will pale in comparison.

Love Grace cafe – I’m a student but am there at least once a fortnight.

I really am surprised at all the comments mentioning how good the coffee is here. I live nearby and would love to go to Grace on a regular basis and have probably given them more chances than I normally would but find the coffee terrible. Is VERY inconsistant! It is often burnt and luke warm. Its a real shame because the food is yummy and the staff are nice

LOVE Grace’s. This is a regular cafe now as it is always awesome. If you want yummy food, warm-friendly service and a consistently good coffee then you MUST go!!! NOW!!! I love that it is the suburbs, it adds to the feel of the place and you always feel welcomed here. The added bonus is that it is kid friendly – great for mums and dads (and grandparents). Give it a go you wont be disappointed.

The food was faultless but over-priced. Our dining experience was totally marred by the level of noise coming from the kitchen opening directly into the restaurant, from very loud patrons and pre-recorded music. Conversation at the table was almost impossible. I have been here twice before for dinner but find the acoustics in this very basic cafe, unacceptable.
I shall never return.

I always enjoy dining at Grace’s. I most recently went for lunch, and had the cannelloni with a mocha. The meal was exceptional- sufficient portion size, and great taste and presentation. The service was friendly and prompt, and the restaurant was clean.

You are a ‘top performer’ Grace.
I have eaten your ‘grown-up’ cooking on two occasions. I was blown away by your squid the first time so on my next trip to Hamilton from Auckland I insisted on another fix of Grace. My friend thought her beef salad was the finest she had tasted and my teenage children, who are foodies, adored the seafood pasta as much as I did.
Congratulations

This cafe has a fantastic ambience, authentic & well planned surroundings, wonderful food, and awesome staff that make you feel so welcome…very child friendly too which is not always a given with cafes remember
I recommend a visit to Grace on Braid, you wont be sorry, a wonderful cafe in the suburbs which is going to do very well.

More chokky moosepot!!!! This delicious cacao dish served in clear glass with crunchy shortbread on the side can only be matched by something similar I enjoyed recently in Geneva. It is that good; dense, aromatic, rich, brimming with with a subtle layer of liqueur. Such a treat after a delicious pork belly and seasonal veges, drizzled with a divine sauce. And the long black is consistently fine! Four stars from me, as the layout, music and lighting are haphazard, though the toilet is top class : clean, well provisioned, tidy, with cute cotton handtowels. I heartily recommend you visit Grace on Braid; it has great food, and Stu is a most gracious host.

I love the staff at ‘Grace’. They are obliging, attentive and sociable. They always look as if they are having fun and enjoying what they do. It’s great to see this in a work place. They make a great moccha and their health biscuits I especially recommend. ‘Grace’ is a great neighbourhood cafe. It’s where you stop off while doing the compulsory Saturday walk or Sunday bike ride. It can be a reward for the exercise!

Visited this cafe and wanted to have some water for the table.
Approached a waitress and asked her if she would bring water to to table when she had a free moment. She agreed. A male staff member ( who I was later informed was the owner) told me in a very off hand manner where the water was and inferred that I should get it myself;
Now I have not been to this cafe before and had I known that the water was self serve I would have helped myself.
I told him that I did not know that the water was located where it was and he shot back “well now you know”. I got the impression that he felt this was entirely acceptable to speak to a customer as he had me.
Unfortunately I replied in not a very adult way suggest he should stick his attitude where the sun doesn’t shine, he immediately approached me in a very intimidating manner, put his hand on me and suggested the “me and all my friends” leave. Now my friends had done nothing to offend him.
I told him to keep his hands to himself and sat down not wanting to create anymore tension. He then approached the table and told us all to leave, He was very agitated and refused to be quiet. Thankfully he eventually left us alone.
To add to this the glass ware was dirty and the coffee luke warm and burnt.

The service at this new restaurant knocked my socks off. Each person who served me (there were 4) was friendly, attentive and efficient. I have not experienced this kind of service outside of Asia. My salad was superb and the coffee just right. I’m looking forward to going back.
