Just had dinner at the Gibson last night and the food was absolutely delicious and well presented. The Gibson surf and turf is a must as well as their salt and pepper squid. I would recommend everything on the menue and trust me you won’t be disappointed. The staff are extremely friendly and professional. Would definately be going back there and would recommend it to anyone. A+++++

We had been to The Gibson on a couple of occasions in September, mainly to watch Italy play in the pool games of the RWC.
Both times we found the food excellent, especially the beer battered fries! We have also had the salt & pepper squid, which was tender and perfectly seasoned; Two pizzas (smoked chicken and cranberry, smoked salmon), which were very nice and quite large in size; and for dessert we have had the Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta, which we found lovely to finish off a great meal.
We were served by the same gentleman both times we visited. He was the only one on duty both nights. We found him very attentive and friendly, yet maintaining a good level of professionalism. He seemed to be able to gauge when to come over and see if we needed anything, and when to leave us to it. On our first visit, he asked us if we wanted to turn the sound of the game up, and assured us that it would not bother the diners on the restaurant side of the bar as he can isolate the sounds to the different rooms. He clearly understands what good customer service is because he is very good at making sure he provides it.

Food deserves more stars but the service last night was a bit off! Eventually approached the bar to ask if order needed to be placed there.
Wine glasses also need to be marked – I had 2 glasses of wine and the level poured to was vastly different.
Improve your service out front, you have a good chef!

We enjoyed every item we chose from the menu, and the staff was great! The Gibson will see us again for sure.

We had a wonderful Mother’s Day dinner at The Gibson tonight. The place is big and comfy, and the menu is varied and not too pricey. The food was absolutely delicious! To start off, the potato wedges were amazing, and for the mains we had pizza, steak and pasta, which were all absolutely delicious. Finally, we had chocolate mousse, ice cream and panna cotta for dessert, which were all beautifully presented and tasted amazing! We would gladly go back to The Gibson and I would not hesitate to recommend it. A++

I tried the chicken fettucini – it was delicious. Will probably go back there again for the same.

***** stars! Great pub meal. We had a wonderful dinner at the Gibson. It was an early dinner as we have young children but were pleasantly surprised to find we were there for happy hour – $5 house wines and beers! The food was delicious – garlic bread, super yummy (and so often done badly in restaurants!) and the fish and chips (fresh snapper!) for $15.50 was awesome value. All in all, a fantastic meal that was really good value. We will be back!
