Some of the best boutique beers and wines that NZ has to offer, with delicious menus and a classy yet relaxed atmosphere to match, Gather Cafe & Bar is a fully licensed cafe/bar. Stylishly comfortable furniture and fittings make you feel like you could be dining in a fancy restaurant, but you’ll feel right at home regardless, because this cafe & bar oozes a relaxed cafe atmosphere. There is something on the menu for everyone including those with special dietary requirements as Gather Cafe & Bar has a chef that understands how difficult it can be sometimes to find something to eat, being gluten intolerent herself. The coffee we use is roasted in a funky little shed sitting out over the water at Point Howard. They only roast in small batches with the best green beans the roasters can get their hands on with the aim to create an outstanding brew. We think they’ve got it right and that is why we have partnered up with them to bring customers on The Terrace the great taste of Karamu Coffee.

by Greg M. 31st May 2011: We went there for dinner on a Friday night, and we were using a voucher from a daily deal website. We were not in any way made to feel “cheap” as is often the case when you use these vouchers. The meal was nice and service was outstanding. We had a table right by the door upstairs and had a view down to The Terrace. The Manager made us feel very welcome. Prices were good for the food, although there is something about paying a considerable amount for a burger; my partner enjoyed it. I would eat here again for sure.

They were short staffed when I went there for lunch with friends, but we were still served quickly with our meals coming out just as quick.

Will definitely return )

The food was amazing, the drinks were delicious and the atmosphere is perfect for a place to hang out and relax.
The staff were also very friendly and attentive.
by Anya 29th March 2011: I had a dinner here with a group of friends on a Friday night. Everyone really enjoyed the food. The chicken liver pate as a starter is so delicious! Definitely recommend this place if you want good food and reasonable price.
