This Cafe is a delight, not only do they serve excellent food with a smile but when I left my wallet behind in the little gift shop a staff member had it returned to me intact via courier. Thanks to her and the person who found it.
We had stopped for breakfast enroute to Napier, it turned out to be delicious and well worth our stop, coffee is excellent too. We will return without a doubt.

We have been to this establishment once before and the food was okay but not great value for money.
Today we went back to give them the benefit of the doubt – wow- very disappointed.
We had a voucher- 2 for one which was fine.
We ordered the special of the day – fish and curly fries. My partner noticed we only had one piece of fish when at another table they had two pieces of fish and it was the exact same meal- did we get short changed due to the voucher ??
My meal was a open steak sandwich – when it arrived the steak was barely warm, partially grilled as you could see the lines on the meat and very rare if cooked at one end at all- Sure rare is fine if you like it that way – they should ask how the customer likes it done.It was as if half the steak was on the grill and half was not.
Anyway it was very bland and when the waitress delivered the food she said ” here is your “beef burger” when I am thinking hmmm was it not a open steak sandwich ??
It was tasteless to be honest – the curly fries on my partners plate was better…
To top that off we then had some water – to only see the glass we had been given had a inch long crack in it.
For us I think that is cause not to go back. Very disappointed

One of my favourite cafes in Hamilton. And once again they didn’t disappoint. Coffee is excellent. Food consistently delicious and their prices are fair. Service friendly and it’s exciting to see that they are expanding their premises. One of the things I like the best about Firepot is the wee shop they fill with quirky and interesting things to buy. I usually can’t escape without buying something. I will definately be back.
