Reviews for The Drake

It’s a pub atmosphere, and on the night, was enhanced by a dynamic music trivia competition. Venue seating was about 70% full, normal seats taken, so sat in a pub bar stool for the meal. Trivia night was run professionally, and was very impressed by the quality of audiovisual presentation on the TV, matched to the questions asked.
Ordered the Open Steak Sandwich from the menu. Steak was rare but dry, could have been the dry cheese underneath. It was also chewie in places, even though it was advertised as marinated on the menu. Chips were not salted, dry but crispy. Ketchup, salt and pepper was thoughtfully added to the table after ordering. The caramelised onions on their own were too sweet for my taste but surprisingly complemented the dish. The bread base was very good, firm and not soggy. There was no top bread for the sandwich but wasn’t needed. The appetising bacon containing very little fat and was cooked well. Although the rocket and dressing seemed flat, the tomato was fresh.
Overall the food was tasty but nothing special. The Service was friendly and efficient. Meal was filling and the minor points mentioned above are nothing considering the exceptional value for money, great service and entertainment. Definitely recommend a meal there.

Nothing special – it’s a Monteiths bar so the food and beer is exactly what you’d expect. Unadventurous menu that needs more vegetarian options.

Great place, good atmosphere and on to it staff! Often pop in for a drink or two after work, food is quick and we love the wedges – everything else is highly recommended.

The first time i came here for a drink i found the professionalism and friendly manner by all staff very inviting. A great place for drinks after work. The food is outstanding and if you are in the area you must try the wedges and sour cream-yum. Thankyou to Kiri and the team regards Dean

The food is always good, the service is super friendly with a great atmosphere. I would come here every night if I could! Pick of the menu: Apricot Chicken. It’s awesome.

I regularly visit The Drake – sometimes just for drinks, and others for a meal.
The service is fantastic, food is great and really well-presented, and a good price.
They often have promos on, such as Platter & a Pint for $20, which is awesome value… try the seafood platter, it’s fab!
Also, the two-for-one meals on Sundays is great value… can keep going back to try more of the menu, as all the meals so far have exceeded expectations.
The Drake has great atmosphere, with a nice fire for those chilly days.
All in all, a great experience, which I wish to keep repeating!
