I only went there once, a lunchtime in middle of 2011.
Chose a seat, sat, waited. Waitress came delivering food to next table, but seemed to have no interest in me – I was waiting for her to turn and address me, but no.

After waiting at least 10min – I left. :-[

Have just had a works Christmas function. Was told by people not to go there because they were disappointed, but I can say we had a lovely meal there. The staff were so helpful and very friendly. Even letting us use their stereo system so we could party. I would recommend my friends to go there.

my partner and i came here on 3/9/2011 to celebrate our engagement, we both enjoyed our main meals and deserts so much and were quite full when we left. Definitely value for money and very good service keep up the good work. we will be back again

Dining here recently, the speed of service was very good indeed, at the beginning. The starter was very good, but as it was lunchtime, the menu was fairly basic. Opting for a roast, it was full of seasonal vegetables – but devoid of gravy – making the whole plate dry and hard to eat. However, they ought to check the vegetables more closely and select only those still fit to eat, as one of my potatoes was rotten and the parsnip was too bitter and woody to eat. It was impossible to catch the eye of a member of staff as they were dealing with a very demanding table of 19 or so people, who were getting rowdier as time and alcoholic intake progressed. I’d eat there again, just to see whether an evening meal was more up to the standard we expect at this establishment.

Had a meal on Saturday night, with my wife, on 13 August 2011. Arrived at the restaurant at 7.30pm. Was seated promptly, by the welcoming staff. Looked around and observed the restaurant was nearly deserted. I thought strange, for a Saturday night. Was anticipating great food, from the reviews I had read, so got down to business. Was expecting “fine dining”, what we got was medicore fare. I had to return the special of the day, which was “grouper fillets accompanied with a caper sauce”. I love grouper, but any fish that tastes fishy, and smell’s fishy, is not fresh. The sance was a gluggy mess also.So it was returned and replaced with vension. My wife’s fare was better, but certainly no-where near a “fine dining” experience. What also was annoying, was the constant movement of young children (3-8yr old’s) running up and down the middle of the restaurant the whole time we were there. They belonged to a large group of people dining, that seemed more concerned about themselves than their offspring. It required a member of another table, to confront the group about their children’s antic’s, before they settled down. It should have been up to the staff to deal with the problem. Overall, the food was very disappointing, as was the atmosphere. The plus, was the friendly waitress that served us.

Went to the Crown Mill for my husband’s birthday and expected delicious food and nice atmosphere… Was very disappointed on both accounts: Kind of “food court” quality with bad music (Tina Turner – rolling on the river – are you serious?!?! in what they describe as a “classy restaurant”?!) Ordered Pate for starters, my husband ordered chicken tenders. Pate was icy cold, ciabatta burnt and soggy, came with a pickled onion and a slice of salami. Kind of pub style I reckon. Chicken was ok, but the people on the next table complained about that they were quite tough… Pork for mains – honestly yuk. First thing I thought when I tasted it was dishwashing liquid, sauce was about 60% butter I think. Husband ordered beef steak which was ok but the vegetables were overcooked – borderline mash. Wine was great though and waitress lovely and attentive. Ended up getting a 10% discount because we were not happy. However, still paid 114$ for a meal we didn’t enjoy, waste of money. I’m not usually fussy but if you spend a lot of money on a meal you’d expect way better!

Would’ve been a 5 star except we had to wait nearly an hour for our meals once ordered.
I had booked for 14 of us for a birthday lunch and all of us were very happy with our meals when they came. The staff did their best given there were only 2 of them and the place was nearly full. Nothing was a bother and it was excellent value for money.

I had the opportunity to dine at the Crown
Mill on two ocassions in the same week. The first visit was a romantic dinner for two and was absolutely perfect. The atmosphere was very peaceful and ideal for a pleasant dinner for two. The food was cooked to perfection and the service great.
I then 2 days later, took a group of 13 to there for a farewell dinner. Again the evening was faultless. Perfect food, great service and everyone was very impressed with this place. Well done Crown Mill staff and management.

Nice atmosphere, delicious food, great service, didn’t have to wait too long at all.
In fact, this was the nicest meal out we have had for a long time.
Keep it up, well done.!

Great location, easy parking, nice atmosphere, good choice on menu, very reasonable pricing. Would have given 5 star but service was a little slow, missed glass of Wine, nearly missed coffee order. Other wise very good, recommended.

My husband and I ate here for our anniversary, which was on a Sunday. The service was impeccable, but this could have been due to the fact that we were the only people in the restaurant! The wine range was good and the food was amazing! – all at a very reasonable price for the quality. Will eat here again.

I have eaten at the Crown Mill 4 times in the past 2 months and each meal was of excellent standard. I took a group of 8 friends there and everyone enjoyed their meal and evening. The decor is modern, stylish and clean and the staff friendly. Highly recommended.

I had the distinct pleasure of dining with friends at the Crown Mill restaurant a few weeks ago. The atmosphere, staff, service and food quality were all superb. The owner must be enhancing an already blue-ribbon reputation. I intend to return at every opportunity to savour more of their supreme hospitality.

This Restaurant is under new management and although I never ate there previously, I am so pleased I finally got there and gave it a try!
The food was cooked perfectly and so tasty!and at prices that are more than affordable, it’s warm, inviting and such a stunning building, they have a massive fire out back and it was such a great place to be. It’s on my favorite list and I highly recommend it to all.
