Food in the cabinet was pricey – $11.50 for a tiny slice of bacon/egg pie thing, no garish, or side salad. The atmosphere is nice and the owner too, but the young staff were pretty rude and not helpful at all. We didn’t stay for another cider, which on a usual Sunday would have turned into quite a few cider sales for them if we’d like it better. Nice place tho, I do think the prices need tuning up along with the service.

I have just been to The Cider Shed with a friend and two kids and what a great experience!
I got the mushroom fettucine, my friend had the bacon and eggs (poached) and we ordered the kids hotdogs and a lasange for the children..
We ordered hot chocolate, mocha, fresh banana smoothie and a berry smoothie for the kids.
Our waitress was prompt and brought our drinks all together, the hot drinks were hot and delisious and the smoothies cold and thick.
The meals arrived shortly afterwads and were piping hot, my fettucine was full of fresh mushrooms, no dought from the vege shop on site, and there was enough bacon on my friends plate with the eggs poached perfectly, the lasange came with a colourful salad and was hot all the way through and looked yum, and the chips on the kids meal were nice and crunchy.. yes I pinched a few. We opted against trying any cider as we were driving but will most definately be back to try a few with a dinner one night. really enjoyed the atmosphere with friendly staff, and great food. See you again soon.

Recently stopped at the Cider Shed… what a mistake!

Ordered their all day breakfast minus the mushrooms, wasn’t asked how I’d like my eggs which is partly my fault as I should have told them, but got distracted by the staff member trying to figure out why I didn’t want the mushrooms. My friend got the kids cheese burger and fries as there was nothing else on the menu or in the overstocked and dried out looking food cabinet that she wanted.

The coffee was very bitter, but arrived very quickly. My breakfast had to go back because it was covered in mushrooms, a minute later I got it back. The bacon was super greasy, the roasted potato bite thingys were soft and covered in so much salt it wasn’t funny. One egg was fried fine, the other was pretty much raw yolk with 1/4 raw white. Wasn’t impressed with the toasted muffin tops as they were drenched in mushroom juice and salt.

The kids cheese burger came with 1/2 a rissole, 1/2 a slice of cheese, a huge amount of onion, lots of salt, all sandwhiched between toasted muffin bases. The fries were covered in lots of salt as well.

So, if you like lots of salt, and grease, you will like this place.

The price was resonable compared to Auckland prices, the service was 5/10, the food 1/10

Maybe only teething problems but I thought the staff were inexperienced, the coffee expensive at 4.50 for a flat white, cabinet food uninteresting and expensive. Hopefully an improvement will follow.
