Had been to the chocolate shop before, and had wanted to try the cafe since then. It was a busy Saturday lunch time, and very cosy with the roaring fire – no wonder the only table left was near the door. I didn’t try the coffee but my friends seemed to enjoy theirs. I had Blackball sausages with hash cakes and beans – the sausages x2 were delicious, quite peppery and light (not fatty). The hash cakes were good, however the beans were ordinary and both could’ve been served hotter. Having said that it was b borderline, so I didn’t ask to have them heated up but I’m sure it wouldn’t have been a problem if I had. Friend’s French Toast was given the big thumbs up, and there were many other menu items I’d love to try on another visit (the lure of the excellent chocolate and sweet shop will ensure that!).

Just what you want in a cafe. Easy parking, nice warm environment, fresh food and great coffee.
We found the service good and I can recommend the mince on toast. The cabinet food is presented well and looks inviting.
You can also purchase chocolates for later.

Been here several times now. The coffee can be truly excellent, but I’ve also been very disappointed on a few occasions. I guess it depends who makes it. Comes with a nice chocolate on the saucer which is always welcome. The outdoor dining area is nice and dogs are welcomed which is helpful, but the indoor area has the feel of a hospital cafeteria about it, and I always feel desperate to escape. The big breakfast is above average, however prices for the cabinet food are a little OTT for Warkworth. I haven’t been into the chocolate shop, but was given a free “creation” at Easter time and was very impressed. This cafe has the potential to be the best coffee house in Warkworth, if only they can be consistent.

We came on a rainy day, the warmth of the welcome as well as the fire made us feel fantastic. The food order was taken by staff who were so friendly and helpful. Our children’s food came out quickly and was delicious, there was even something in the cabinet that was perfect for the 11 month old baby. The food for the four adults was tasty, well presented and came out in good time. By this stage the older kids had finished and the t.v room was put to use. I then had a hot chocolate – the ‘house’ style – it was, without a doubt, the best hot chocolate I have ever had. I can no longer have them back in Wellington as they will be such a disappointment! We also bought some delicious chocolate from the superb shop – a five star experience. Thank you Chocolate Brown!

We found Chocolate Brown staff to be very friendly, the breakfast was perfectly cooked, everyone raved about the steak in the Kiwi Breakfast. There was 11 of us and everyone agreed the breakfast was lovely and the chocolates to die for, especially the fudge. Well recommended.

Great funky cafe! Loved the food, wasn’t your standard cafe paninis and sandwiches, ask for the hash brown cakes – mmm!
Friendly staff, onsite parking, good seating and a DVD room for the kids.
The real hot chocolates are out of this world too, a must have.

Chocolate Brown has raised the bar for cafe dining in Warkworth, starting with friendly staff, a great atmosphere and really good food. I have been many times with both friends for lunches, the kids for after sport hot chocolates and, even the occasional time out coffee by myself, and I have always enjoyed my experience there. The parking is really handy, and the fire blazing in the cafe has warmed me up, especially with all the rain and cold weather we have been having!! One of my favourite treats is the choco head and my kids love the House hot chocolates ( not to be confused with regular hot choc).

Lovin it!! Since Chocolate Brown opened in Warkworth we’ve had a great extra place to go, the best in town as far as I’m concerned. With an amazing dinner and dessert menu, incredible range of chocolates, and really friendly staff, its the town highlight! Thanks for an awesome experience!

Recently had breakfast there with my daughter, who loves this place(eats there every chance she gets!).
We had the Eggs Benny, one with ham & one with mushrooms, ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS, the best benny I have had for a while. Decor stylish, nice vibe, friendly staff, coffee could of been hotter but nice. Only ‘”low” point, we browsed & brought chocolates from next door after breakfast, and asked the shop assistant about what some of the British lollies were, she did not seem to have any product knowledge at all about them, chocolates also a little pricey.Comment from Steve M. of Chocolate Brown 5/08/2010Great to hear you enjojed the food and atmosphere. We will always… More »
