Reviews for The Chart Room Restaurant

10th January 2011-
Four of us booked dinner at The Chart Room Restaurant. Our booking could not be found even though I pointed it to the girl whom we had to wait on as no one was at the desk upon our arrival. The entree of selection of breads were stale and hummus dry. Other entrees were okay. Service was terrible, Sarah had her hair tied back but strands of greasy hair hanging down around her face which she kept on pushing back. Also her pants and shirt did not meet so we unfortunately could see her underwear. The waiting staff (two of them) did not work well together and lots of tables were getting frustrated by the lack of service. Also bending across the table to serve drinks and food is not acceptable in this class of restaurant. We had to ask three times for water and the salmon main was served in baking paper which when removed was left on our table and not discarded. Overall a very disappointing experience, and one final note, check what you are being charged for, I was charged for a bottle of wine when I only had a glass!!

a diamond in the rough – the Chartroom is located in the Mercure Picton Marlborough Sounds, which undeniably needs some work. The restaurant though is beautiful. Well apoointed, beautifully decorated and with friendly service that is all to often lacking these days. The ?German? Chef does the best fish and fillets ever. Definately recommend it!
