The Butter Factory brings a bit of the big city liveliness to Whangarei! Great rustic decor and comfy furniture creating a chilled classy atmosphere. The perfect recipe to attract the professional after work crowd along with creative arty music lovers. Excellent live music to keep you entertained from the early evening till well into the night.

Pity about the bad choice in bar staff though. After waiting at the relatively quiet bar for what seemed like an eternity to get an after work drink, and being passed over for other punters, was finally served by the Canadian barman and overcharged. Unfortunately it wasn’t the last time in the same evening. So watch ya pockets folks!

Walk away from the city centre and sink into wide worn brown leather seats and order a glass of Merlot. Ultimately understated, this hideaway is a welcome spot for laxing out. The option to sit outside on summer days with friends enjoy a beer or Pinot Gris sets a very relaxed tone around the cities corner.
Alternatively, rage the nights away in the packed bar with plenty going on.

Have recently moved to Whangarei and didn’t think there was anywhere decent to go out and then we discovered this place, great atmosphere, good tunes and a great drink selection, will definately be coming back!
