Yes, ll BUCKLANDS espresso lounge ll opened in November 2011 giving a much needed cafe for the locals and visitors to the peninsular to catch up during the day over a great coffee and an affordable bite out. This special place has been a year in the planning and with one of Auckland’s greatest barista’s, some hand picked staff and two very passionate owners – there is always a welcome smile, the sweet smell of coffee and baked delights fresh from the oven – “we want to know you and ensure you have a sense of belonging because this is YOUR local and we look forward to welcoming you back EVERY TIME!” You can find us on the corner of Wharf Road and Hattaway Ave – just a stones throw from the beach (we don’t even mind sandy feet, it is all part of this special seaside location). A great destination when you feel like exploring somewhere new…and to think this holiday spot is in Auckland! Everyday feels like a day off at BUCKLANDS.

by peter s. 11th March 2012: Good location, friendly staffs and good coffee and food. The island guy makes good coffee as he always from other place he use to work, like La Cigale market in Parnell. Keep making good coffee for us lol.
by lisa 11th March 2012: First visit, Saturday morning, the food and coffee were great, and the serving staff friendly and efficient. I put the rudeness of the chap behind the till down to stress as the place was pumping. Second visit the following day, coffee was great, the takeaway bagels not so, but that could be a personal choice. However, again the chap behind the till was rude, unwelcoming and we experienced nothing like the warm and welcoming reception the reviewers from the NZ Herald did.
by John 12th February 2012: Great breakfast. Real bacon (not the cheap stuff that a lot of places serve), free range eggs and nice selection of teas if you are not a coffee drinker. Good value also. Recommended.

The place is clean and crisp, the food well priced and tasty and the staff despite the rush of customers really helpful.

A big thumbs up from us we will be back for sure.
