We ate here the other night and might I say, what a treat!
This place is a little haven off the streets of Queenstown. As you walk in you feel like you’ve been trasported to Italy with the dim lighting, the wonderful smells of garlic and it was so warm and cosy, a relief on such a dreary wet evening.
My husband tried a rigatoni pasta with lamb which was one of the best pasta’s we have ever eaten. The waitress explained that they make the pasta freshly every day and boy what a difference it makes!
My son was happy to settle with a plain margherita pizza which was huge. He loved watching the pizza chef throw the pizza’s in front of him. I myself had a seafood risotto which was scrumptious.
There was not a huge variety to choose from on the menu but as the waitress explained they change the menu every day to keep the ingredients fresh and with food this good I would happily choose freshness over a huge menu anyday.
Cant wait to visit again next year!

First thing you notice about Bella Cucina is the doorway entrance which appears to have been specially made for people suffering from stick-figure body disorders. It’s a long narrow restaurant/cafe with tables lined up along the wall. If it seems incredibly hot when you walk in, ask to sit nearer the back. It’s a bit cooler down there.

There’s a board outside which advertises the fact that the menu changes daily, which is something worth keeping in mind when you view the menu on this particular page – that isn’t the menu that we were provided with.

Staff were attentive and there’s no fault with the staff at all. What I did find was that the menu was an odd array of foods. There were 4 main dishes, 1 of which had been crossed out with a pen leaving 2 out of 3 seafood dishes. This didn’t leave a lot of choice given that I had no urge for seafood on this particular night. There’s also a selection of pizzas on the menu as well (3) – but again, the toppings seemed like an odd selection.

If you have kids, unless they are incredibly experimental with palates that are accustomed to trying food on the more gourmet end, then this place is ideal. If however you have kids who are fussy eaters, then this place probably wouldn’t do the trick.

Despite the odd array of food, it actually did leave me feeling like I had really limited choice and in the end, chose nothing.

Thus I have given an average rating, which may seem unfair given that I barely tried it out … but that’s because both my wife and I both found the menu … well, unappealing.

Might be prepared to try it again, but will be inspecting the menu much closer before choosing to dine there.
