Reviews for Amigos Cafe

It was about 2 years since last visit. Just wondering if it had changed hands or something. Was not as nice tasting as we remembered. The mains seemed to be lacking authenticity. Refried beans seemed boring. The option of sauces were taken off and replaced with tobasco only. Staff seemed only to happy to please. Will wait to hear from others before going back !

That’s no good at all, I’m really sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy your meals!!

Not too sure what you mean by the sauce options were gone, and Tabasco offered instead? We still put our home made Jalapeno sauce on each table (very occasionally we run out, but not recently?), but we ALSO now have four varieties of Tabasco, three varieties of the fantastic NZ made Fire Dragon sauces, and a selection of the crazy hot Blairs ‘Death’ Sauces… so I’m a bit stumped on that one amigo!

I have to assume that you didn’t raise this with your waitstaff, nor did you fill out a comment card, (I’m sure you noticed that we put cards and pens on every table!) Had you done so, we would have sorted a remedy there and then for you.

Anyhow, like I said Hamish, we’re really sorry, we hate negative reviews, but take them on board when they happen. A quick search of other review sites or our facebook page ought to show that we’re not in the habit of disappointing guests on a regular basis.

Great food (love them burritos!!). Great service (Thanks Nicki for making us feel at home…oh and for the best margs outside of Mexico!!). Great atmosphere. All around great time at Amigos, however be aware of that hot sauce. They aren’t kidding when they advise to use sparingly.
